"Wu Yun Cherry Blossom Red" calligraphy and painting exhibition captivates Tokyo

Yang Dexin and calligrapher Matsuoka Fukura perform a collaborative performance


Chinese artist Yang Dexin brings his "Unsui Calligraphy" to bear on "Tokyo River Ge," breaking new ground in Sino-Japanese cultural exchange. From Tokyo/WANG WEICHONG At the moment when the elegant atmosphere of Jiangnan and the pink cherry blossoms of Tokyo intertwine, a cross-border art festival will soon begin.

Yang Dexin, a famous Chinese calligrapher and painter, known as a "pioneer of philosophical thinking art", will hold a solo exhibition "Wu Yun Cherry Red - 2025 Yang Dexin Calligraphy and Painting Exhibition (Tokyo Exhibition)" on March 2, 2025 at 3:00 pm at the Tokyo Multicultural Center (TBK 6-19-46 Akasaka, Minato-ku, Tokyo). This exhibition will not only be a visual art feast, but also a place for cultural exchange that connects the hearts of China and Japan. The event is co-hosted by OCTEN Japan, China Dragon News Japan, and Beijing Fashion Classic Arts Exchange Center, supported by the Japan Economic Culture Newspaper, supported by the Japan-China Cultural and Sports Exchange Association, and cooperated by Tokyo Ginza Fukuraan and Matsuoka Fukura.


Yang Dexin: From the Qinghai-Tibet Plateau to Suzhou in Jiangnan, drawing the philosophy of life with brush and ink Yang Dexin is a China national first-class artist and senior calligraphy technician, and the artistic director of the Beijing Fashion Classic Arts Exchange Center. Born on the Qinghai-Tibet Plateau, he later moved to Suzhou in Jiangnan. The grandeur of the plateau and the elegance of Jiangnan blend into his work, cultivating his own artistic temperament. The "Unsui Calligraphy" he created in 2024 has brought innovation to traditional calligraphy with its flowing brush strokes and sense of rhythm, and has obtained copyright protection. It has attracted great attention in the art world.




The Unsui style of calligraphy captures the softness of floating clouds and the rippling movement of water, perfectly blending the elegance of traditional calligraphy with modern aesthetics. This style inherits a deep cultural background, while reflecting Yang's insight into nature and life, demonstrating innovation that goes beyond tradition. His representative works, Queue Head, Meng Da's Spiritual Realm, and Heavenly Palace Immortals, have won numerous awards at exhibitions both at home and abroad, and are considered artistic treasures that are described as "poetry painted with brush and ink, and philosophy nourishing the mind."


Yang Dexin is a national first-class fine artist. After graduating from the fine arts department at university, he was once an art teacher. He is now a professional painter, and serves as the art director of the Beijing Fashion Classical Art Center, a painter at the Qinghai Provincial Painting Academy, director of the China Art United Academy of Fine Arts, honorary director of the Kunshan Overseas Chinese Painting and Calligraphy Academy, and art education director at Shuo Lihaoxue International Education.


Starting with the "Yang Dexin Calligraphy and Painting Exhibition" organized by the Qinghai Provincial Artists Association and held by the Provincial Art Museum in the 1990s, he has held a number of solo and joint exhibitions over the years.
